Suddenly I'm bothered about traffic
Or the lack of to be more precise. When I started blogging, like most people I guess, it was for my own benefit. Even when I started surfing Blog Explosion and traffic and comments started coming thick and fast I never thought it was an issue.
BUT (<---- big but) since this new Surf By Description thingy caused a slow down in traffic, I find I'm actually bothered by it and that surprises me.
I guess it's like trying to be heard in a crowded room... you want others to hear your opinion. I wonder why?
I can only guess it's because, while I'm very outgoing in the company of friends, I'm actually quite reticent around those I don't know. Blogging gives me the opportunity to speak to people I wouldn't normally be able to and I suppose I miss that.

Liz, everybody wants people to read their blog, it's perfectly human.
Hey, if you didn't want people reading it you would write in a diary with a key.
I still haven't changed my description and don't plan to any time soon. The real traffic generator is battle of the blogs, either that or you leave comments everywhere.
I know you said something about not being to keen on the battles but the truth is it gets people reading.
And you know what else ?
It almost drives you write better because you want to do well.
Anyway, that's just my opinion

I haven't bothered surfing by description as yet- i like getting surprise blogs. Of course, some i hate but i feel surfing by description is like going to my favourites and i wouldn't see different things that way. Maybe i'm just odd though

I agree Alison, despite the fact that I'm bound to run into the kind of sites I don't like (politics etc.), I like the idea that I don't know what I'll bump into.
OldGuy, I doubt anything could make me write better because I'm not a writer, just a plain ordinary blogger. Well OK, maybe a special blogger hehe!

Wanting feedback is natural. After the initial shock of actually getting your first comment, I think it becomes a bit of a buzz. Enjoy. :D
A Blog Explosion guest ;)

Not having joined before the "Surf by description" thingy was put into effect. I was thinking "what a gyp" to myself, then I remembered that the service is free...LOL.
Glad to hear that when the traffic rolls back up to speed, I'll be able to look forward to visitors who comment.
See, you're not alone in the quest for commenting visitors.
Peace,
Dee

That's a good point Dee, it is free and I enjoy both aspects of it - visiting and visitors.
Z, you're right it is a buzz. Thanks for your comments.
